1. Lightning and Discovery were in a forest watching the day turn to night. "Lightning: Dark outside, huh?" "Discovery: It's cold...and dark." Lightning heard the voices he was hearing for years. "Frost: A legacy. Abilities used for fighting. Thirteen of them. They were used by wolves everywhere. Now they are hard to learn. They are a legacy of the wolves that used them." "Lightning: Discovery.., do...you...ever...hear voices?" "Discovery: How much weirder can you get. There's no such thing as..." "Lightning: You got blades all over your body." "Discovery: Some are born with blades. Steel's a cool metal. What my blades are made out of." "Lightning: Don't think cool of yourself. You know you're lying. Don't forget you're a wimpy loser. These words aren't mine. Remember your mother." "Discovery: Stop remembering everything."
2. Frost and Hazel were in a plain where they have lived for many years. It was midnight. "Frost: I don't understand. Lightning [my long lost brother] has not been getting any of the messages I've sent." "Hazel: You should remember that when December's alive, messages are hard to hear." "Frost: The last time I messaged him, he said, "Huh. Guess I'm crazy," and stuff like that. And when I say last, I mean first."
